My feelings this a.m.

”you know
sometimes words they get too heavy
to sit on the ivory pedestals that we build inside of our mouths.
you know
sometimes our actions
they join hands and they become behaviors
that are too complicated for lips to say out loud
so instead
we liberate our flesh
letting skin speak on our behave
the language of those who are just as afraid of commitment as they are of being alone
and we speak it like it’s our negative tongue"

LOOK FABULOUS: Make-up and Hanging Bantu Knot Twist out- Love Naturally Jojo Product

As a young child, I had a passion for nature, culture, and the beauty of Minority women's hair; Specifiically, African American Women. My passion and love for my ethnic culture began to flourish during random conversation with women and their views of their hair. I quickly realized, that there was a lack of confidence, acceptance, and appreciation amongst African American women and their hair. This fueled me to begin to explore the disconnection between our hair and beauty. In 2006, while on my own pursuit of nappiness, I decided to embrace my natural beauty by not using hair extensions and chemicals in my hair. Impulsive by nature, I did a BC(Big Chop). Although greeted by critcism in the beginning of my hair journey, I Knew that the decision to go natural was for me and me alone. As I embraced my natural beauty, I discovered my true self in the process. A new sense of confident, and definition of beauty emerged. This new discovery drove me to pursue more information on our hair. I began to educate myself on all things natural. I was growing mentally, physically and spiritually in the process of this "natural hair pursuit". In 2012, after numerous emails, questions and forums about my hair, I created LoveNaturallyJojo.com! Love Naturally Jojo is not only a gateway to track my hair journey and share it with others. Love Naturally Jojo is a natural hair care website for women to develop a love for who their creator made them to be. Together, we can educate, embrace, and enjoy our hair!
